Mark Griffiths Books

Guardian web site review by ‘Spartacus’

This is a review of Space Lizards Stole my Brain by Mark Griffiths. This book is about a schoolboy, Lance Spratley, and a evil lizard warlord called Admiral Skink. He wants to conquer the world and Lance is trying to stop him. It’s funny and you never know what will happen next.
Lance lives with his horrible parents thinking “Life can’t get worse”, when something that will turn him in to a totally different person happens… His mind is mixed up with Admiral Skink’s. This is because Skink has a device which can exchange brains so that he can take over humans as a disguise, and then conquer the world. Lance suddenly finds himself in a alien spaceship in the body of Skink. There he finds himself questioned by lizard Fear, Pain and Misery specialists who want to find out human weak points and strong points. Meanwhile on earth, Skink invents the ARGH (Atomic Reconfiguration Generator Harpoon) that turns living materials into blue jelly and makes fossilized materials alive!

Will Skink succeed? Will Lance escape?

I think this is a great book. I like the illustrations, it’s exciting and funny. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes funny and exciting books.
